The AI Hype Train is Out of Control
Look, I’ve been in tech journalism since before it was cool. I remember when we still called it ‘computers.’ And let me tell you, the current AI hype is completley out of hand.
Last Tuesday, I was at a conference in Austin, and some guy from a startup (let’s call him Marcus) told me, “AI is gonna revolutionize everything.” I asked him, “Like what?” And he just waved his hands around like a maniac. Which… yeah. Fair enough.
AI is important, sure. But it’s not the be-all-end-all. And honestly, the way people are throwing it at every problem is kinda scary. It’s like they think it’s a magic wand. Newsflash: it’s not.
Take cybersecurity, for example. Everyone’s talking about how AI is gonna save us all. But here’s the thing: AI is only as good as the data it’s trained on. And if that data is biased or incomplete, well, you’re in trouble.
